Hungry, Hungry, Hippos

Jonathan got his wish today when Daddy bought "Hungry, Hungry, Hippos." One friend told me today that it was a very loud game. It is very loud, but that's okay. My boys have enjoyed playing it all afternoon.

Praying the Word of God

When praying for my husband, I like to pray the Word of God. One passage that I pray is Ephesians 1:16-21

I do not cease to give thanks for my husband, making mention of him in my prayers: that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to my husband the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, that the eyes of my husband's understanding being enlightened; that he may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.

The husband is the head of the family, but the wife is the neck. After the Holy Spirit, we wives are best able to influence our husbands. For me, praying for him allows the Holy Spirit to work and I don't have to nag.

Why does that amaze me?

My husband, Lee, took Jonathan to pre-school today. Jonathan's school is about 28 miles from our home. He goes to school three times a week from 8:45 - 12:00. So we usually stay in Valdosta while Jonathan is in school and get home around 1 pm. Joel and I had a good time together. Sometimes Joel does enjoy time with mama by himself, but he still looks for Jonathan to play.

Today I was looking for Lee and Jonathan to come home around 1 pm. That hour past and I realized they may not be back by 2 pm when I had a hair appointment. So I made arrangements for Joel and got my hair cut. When I got home around 2:30, I expected them to be back but they were not. A little after 3 pm, Lee and Jonathan walked in bearing toys from Target. So everyone was happy!

Lee told me later that while in Target today, Jonathan started crying and saying "Want Mama" and it took Lee about 10 minutes and a walk to the toy department to settle him down. Well, when Jonathan wasn't playing with his Little Einstein Rocket or Joel's Little People Fire Truck, he was stuck to me like "white on rice."

Jonathan missed me today. Why does that amaze me?

Rocket got a special place tonight at bedtime. I just had to share how cute it was.

Inside Picnic

We overslept today, so I didn't take Jonathan to preschool. So it was obvious today that the boys needed to go outside and RUN! So we went outside to play on our play set and in our sandboxes. They had a lot of fun. It was absolutely beautiful - not too hot and not too cold - and the sun was shining. They played well together today. They are only 20 months apart and now that Joel is getting older, they can play without fighting all the time. After a couple of hours I asked them if they were hungry.

Jonathan decided that we should have an inside picnic today. So we went inside and while I gathered up some bowls for our food and put the blanket on the floor, Jonathan and Joel picked our menu:

Turkey Sandwiches
Watermelon
Apple
Yellow chips (aka Lays)
Cucumbers
Cheese
Sprite

So we had a nice picnic lunch today. And I have enjoyed my life.

God is Faithful

The praise on my lips today is -

Psalm 89:1

I will sing of the mercies of the LORD forever; with my mouth will I make known Your faithfulness to all generations.
