BSP: My first job

A NY accounting firm hired this green southern college graduate to be their receptionist. I remember having a hard time saying Brock, Schechter & Pollakoff and being able to pronounce the clients names. But I was well liked by the partners and staff. I moved up to the secretarial pool and thought I was something when I started typing financial statements and correspondence. I was only there for 3 years and 2 months. And I only left to move back south after my divorce. I made about $21,000 a year and they offered me $25,000 to stay back in 1996. I wonder how things would be different now if I had.
